In 2003, over 350 creators of innovative businesses
with great growth potential attended 3 High-Tech
congresses. Five businesses benefited from personalised
start-up assistance. The 7th Venture Capital Summit
attracted 15% more participants than in 2002.
36 start-ups out of 87 contenders were selected
to present their cases to investors. 19% of these
businesses came from within the region. In 2003,
8 start-ups raised over E25.3m; 5 of them have
head offices in the Alpes-Maritimes. Cycles of
high-tech entrepreneurial training continued and
17 businesses from the student incubator continued
to thrive. The CEI was selected to organise the
first "Eurowards" European start-up
contest in the PACA region. 4 prizes were awarded
to businesses in Sophia supported by our CCI.
The CEI also headed Europe's TEEE project designed
to stem the demise of young, innovate businesses
in Europe.
In 2003, the CEI consolidated and enlarged
its product offer to meet the needs of innovative
entrepreneurs.
Through its activities, the CEI has won regional
and international recognition and acclaim :
- Head of "The European Extended Entreprise
for Innovation",
- Personalised start-up assistance,
- Organizer of the 7th Venture Capital Summit
(IVCS 2003),
- Organizer of the EUROWARDS Contest in
the Paca Region.
